Best teethers for four month olds

At 4 months old, my baby was in the intense teething phase (although at 6 months she still doesn’t have any teeth!) She was drooling a ton and wanted to bite everything she could get her little hands on. The problem was…getting her hands on things! At 4 months old, most babies have just learned to hold on to items, but they still drop those items lots, and have trouble maneuvering things to their mouth so they can teethe on them. I had trouble at first finding teething items that could stay in my baby’s hands easily. Here are the best teethers I’ve found for 4 month olds.
Malarkey Munch Mitt: This is probably the best teether even for a 3 month old if you have a little super-early teether on your hands! This is a single mitten that you place on one of your baby’s hands. The mitten has a Velcro strap that secures the mitten on your baby’s hand. Whenever they bring their hand to their mouth, they get to bite on the textured silicone top of the mitt. The inside is soft cloth.
As an added plus, the fabric part of the mitt has crinkle paper in it, which most babies seem to like the sound of! Overall this is a great first teether, because even when your baby is still developing their grasp, this will stay snug on their hand and they can’t drop it. And it come s in so many cute colors and prints.

Itzy Ritzy lemon teether: My baby didn’t have this exact one, but had a similar bear shaped one. The many thin, easy to hold surfaces make it easy for your baby to grasp on without dropping it. And there are plenty of teething surfaces on this lemon. To make it even more secure, you can stick your baby’s hand inside to help it not fall when they open their hands.
This cute yellow lemon comes in an orange version too, as well as a “pink lemonade” version.

Smiley Mia Penguin Teether: This type of teether came highly recommended by some mom friends of mine. A great teether option for four month olds! It allows your baby to practice their grasp without dropping the toy. There’s a silicone bar inside the penguin that your baby can grasp on, and the shape of the teether cups over your baby’s hand and won’t fall off easily.

RaZbaby silicone massager and teether toys: How cute are these? These are great for a baby who can grasp toys easily but has trouble maneuvering toys to their mouth. These are pretty simple, your baby just brings them upwards and they can teethe on the cute little textured fruit.
